Este chinche tiene una forma tan característica que no deja dudas a la identificación una vez que se conoce. Su forma de rombo o diamante se refleja en su nombre Syromastus rhombeus (también Verlusea rhombea ). Se alimentan de los líquidos de las frutas y llegan a ser una auténtica plaga, por ejemplo en las calabazas. Las larvas emergen entre julio y agosto. Al llegar la primavera comienzan a reproducirse.

This bug has a form so typical that there aren`t doubts to the identification once you see it one time. Its form of rhombus or diamond is reflected in its name, Syromastus rhombeus (also Verlusea rhombea). They feed of the liquids of the fruits and they become an authentic plague, for example in the pumpkins. The larva appears between July and August. In the spring they begin to reproduce.
