La especie Stictoleptura es característica por una talla entre 1 y 2 centímetros y los elitros estrechados o cortados al final. Son alargados y tienen una fuerte depresión en el collar del pronoto. Las especies no asiáticas tienen once segmentos en las antenas. En un principio se creyó que eran exclusivamente arborícolas, aunque hoy sabemos que además viven en las flores (umbelíferas, cardos y espinos) Las larvas habitan todo tipo de árboles; pino, picea, abeto, alerce, haya, abedul y roble.
The species Stictoleptura is typical for a size between 1 and 2 centimeters and the elytra depressed or cut in the end.
